Dogwoods Days at the Mary May Binney Wakefield Arboretum is the annual celebration of the legacy of Polly Wakefield’s collection of over 300 dogwood trees in full bloom. Dogwood Days 2023 featured diverse events designed to showcase the spectacular late-spring blooms and appeal to all ages.

Dogwood Days 2023 was a high bloom year! The event was held Saturday, June 3rd through Sunday, June 11th, with the arboretum open to visitors daily from 9:00am-4:00pm with a $5 entrance fee.

In addition to viewing the magnificent bloom in the dogwood allee and the surrounding gardens, guests enjoyed several special events including sheep shearing, guided tours, the Dogwood Days Lawn Party, and Family Day.

Our annual Plant Sale included trees and plants, including those associated with our collection such as kousa dogwoods, Japanese maples, Paperbark maples, Silver maples, Burr oak, Bitternut Hickory, European ginger, Mayapples, and Petasites.
