Orchard Workshop Draws a Hearty Crowd

Twenty hearty souls attended this year's orchard workshop this past Saturday. Mark Smith made a presentation at the farmhouse providing guidelines for creating a high density planting using a post and wire support system. Attendees then walked out to see the system at work, studying the estate's own high density orchard, planted during last year's workshop. It was a bright and beautiful day but there was still snow on the ground from the April Fool's storm. Time to plant apple trees!
