Just as the bright yellow blooms of the forsythia and cornus mas are the first true harbingers of spring, so too is the bright yellow bus arriving at the end of the lane full of young people ready to get out to learn about science! Today, thirty-one 5th graders from the Charles Taylor School made the first all-day field trip this spring and spent time studying decomposers, life cycles, and ecosystems. They also got to meet our new chicks and Sesame the rooster, a cochin variety that is so docile many of the children took turns holding him.
